Chapter One18-19 Parnell Square Opened in 1991 by chef Ross Lewis and co-owner Martin Corbett, Chapter One has risen to the acknowledged status of one of Ireland's best restaurants, winning five honours in the 2004 Food & Wine magazine Restaurant of the Year awards (including Restaurant of the Year) and twice being voted winner of the Best Service award. Set in the stone-vaulted basement of the Dublin Writers Museum on Parnell square and luxuriously furnished with its own collection of original art, this elegant Georgian restaurant offers innovative contemporary food of excellent quality and value. Open every evening from Tuesday to Saturday and lunchtimes Monday to Friday, this is a restaurant where booking in advance is advised. For all its success though, prices remain in the middle range, less expensive than many inferior restaurants in Dublin. If you can, try the pressed duck and black pudding terrine, or go there just for the many stupendous desserts, not to mention the exceptional service. September 04 |
